Our Mission
This project is focused on meeting the immediate shelter needs of outdoor dogs affected by Typhoon Halong. We are incredibly grateful for the support of PetSmart Charities, Lotto Alaska, ASPCA, and VCA Charities, whose contributions allow Straw for Dogs to fund the construction and delivery of insulated dog houses and bedding for dogs in disaster-declared communities. Our goal is simple: To get durable shelter and bedding materials to dogs that need protection from harsh weather conditions as communities recover.
Why This Matters
In disaster-impacted regions, outdoor animals can face additional exposure, displacement, and reduced access to basic shelter. A well-built insulated dog house and fresh straw can make a meaningful difference in comfort, protection, and recovery.
This project helps fill a real need while keeping the focus on communities and animals that fall within the grant’s intended purpose.
